This is a steam boat that was used by a well-established and well-known European explorer called David Livingstone, he used this steam point to embark on his explorations that were mostly based in the Zambezi River and the areas in which the Zambezi River encompasses such as the Victoria Falls and other African lakes. With the use of this steamboat depicted in the image, Livingstone became the first European to cross the width of the southern Africa.

Despite his failing health, Livingstone refused an offer to return home and resumed his search for the source of the Nile. After being resupplied by Stanley, he parted ways with his rescuers in March 1872 and made his way south to Lake Bangweulu in modern-day Zambia. His illnesses later caught up with him, however, and he died from malaria and dysentery on May 1, 1873.
