      As Zulus owned the Transvaal, they did not expect the British to take it over. According to the Zulus, the British was allied with them. When Shepstone told them that the Transvaal was under the British, the Zulus felt the need to try and get their land back.

      King Cetywayo had hoped that the friendship between his people and the British would not come to an end, but Frere caused the conflict and brainwashed the British into believing that the Zulus were a threat to the future as the Zulus had a strong army which could be a threat to the British.

      During the war there was a lot of bloodshed from British's side. To destroy the Zulus they burnt 23 out of 27 of their huts, leaving them homeless.

      The British did not end in burning Zulu huts, they captured the livestock that belonged to the Zulus. According to the British they wanted to leave Zulus weak and defeated.

      The Anglo-Zulu War had a negative impact on the Zulus more, it caused more damage for the Zulus. The economy deprived as Zulus suffered huge losses of livestock and were left homeless

      The British army wanted to expand its region to the Indian side which was controlled by Zulus. The British planned on overthrowing the Zulus and take control of the Indian ocean side. There was an outbreak of the Anglo-Zulu war in 1879, as Zulus did not want to willingly give up on their land without a fight. Zulus used Spears and Shields and won the battle against the British.

      The British were plotting against the Boers, both colonizers wanted land in the same areas of Zulu-land. While Dutch wanted to increase their territory to the Indian side, the British also wanted to control the Indian route, this caused conflict.
