'The Church of England is expected to confirm that openly gay clergy can be made bishops, if they are celibate'
Is this an improvement? what does this say about Religion?
Something to think about....also a good resource!
A programme on BBC 2 showed Terry Pratchett who is suffering from Alzheimers considering ending his life. The programme shows him travel to Switzerland to find out more about assisted deaths. Excellent resource for ethics and Euthanasia lessons. Very real - maybe more for KS4 pupils.
I first heard about the Alevi people through a news report and decided to do some more research into them. It was interesting to see that there can be so many different streams in all religions
This is a useful tool for downloading youtube videos onto your usb for further use and as a resource. It is also good in lessons because it does not freeze in lessons unlike youtube and also does not require the internet!!
I heard bout this on the news. There is some controversy around a recent billboard being put up of a baby scan of Jesus with the slogan 'Christmas starts with Christ'. Some non-christians are finding it offensive!
What do you think?
Came across this site today. It includes some general links to resources for use in classrooms. I love the Brick testament; The Old and New Testament stories told using lego men!!!! Have a look!
Was searching for images today to use in some of my lessons. Came across this; I really like some of the images! The images can be used just as images or they could be used as part of a thought provoking exercise; some are really interestng!!
A leaflet about this group was posted through my door. It says on the leaflet '.......the most educated, organised and disciplined of all muslim communities in Britain' have a look at the websites and see what you think?? They have two different websites both informing people about Islam and the work that they do for the community.
I agree with you they do contradict a lot of the teachings of Islam and this is obviously part of their own interpretation. Just thought it was interesting to mark up to show the many different interpretations and communities that can happen under the one religion.
These are a few short clips shown on Channel 4 before many of their programmes;featuring real people and real religious, spiritual and ethical views! A good resource for the classroom.
