Students learn mathematics by DOING mathematics, and not by watching someone else do mathematics. In recent years there has been an explosion in the number of high quality digital resources available from the Net and elsewhere that allow students to investigate, explore or consolidate the topics they are learning in their maths class.
This website provides sample lesson plans, guided videos, and creative ideas on how to engage students. It also provides a math problem of the month for all age groups that challenges students to think critically and work together in order to come to a final answer/conclusion.
This website provides links to multiple books for online reading. It also has other links for subjects such as bedtime stories, reading quizzes, and puzzles.
This idea can be used for students to express their creativity while also practicing their reading and writing abilities. On each card, the children illustrate the title on one card, the setting, author's purpose, beginning, middle, and end.
This is an overall interactive website. This website can be used for an subject and any grade level. This would be a website that I would use for my students when they had extra free time in the classroom so that they could stay busy but still be learning and using things that they have learned in the classroom. I also think students will enjoy this website because they have the freedom to do what they want to do and work on.
What I really like about this site is that it shows all different learning sites where students can click on a subject and get engaged in activities/games. Once students click on their subject, they can choose their own grade level. I like this especially for during free time.
This site is a good website for students who have dyslexia. Sometimes it is hard for them to understand or keep up when a teacher is reading. This website allows the students to have a book read to them that provides clear pronunciation and meaning of words. This is a good resource for any teacher because we may all have an experience with a student who has dyslexia.

This site shows a number of different resources that teachers and even students can use. It shows sites that show different activities/projects to get creative thinking going. It also shows sites where students and teachers can use other resources to create things such as newsletters and even projects. One that I like is smore!
If you students are over 13, maybe Facebooking would be ok. When I was in high school, my teacher created a page called, "English with Mr. Bormann." It was strictly school related and his posts generally had to do with what was due when. He would also post educational tools for us to use since most of the students had Facebook. This page allowed us to connect as teacher and student without personal details about our lives. It all depends on what your school allows as well as parents.

If a student missed class, the teacher can use this sight to help students and they get immediate feedback. As the website says, this allows students and their pupils or their teacher to work together in real-time. Once I start teaching, I may find more uses for this site.

Now, I do not have an account yet, but this is google docs. I can create any documents I want and I can choose who gets to access it. This is a great and safe way to communicate and work with your students especially if they have IPads. I can put assignments, a calendar, reminders and so much more on this website.

This website shows step-by-step how to make an effective lesson plan. I chose this website because I think it provides a great guide for students who are just getting out and teaching for the first time.

This site has tons of free games and activities for the students. If the teacher sets up an account, she can also post assignments and monitor the students progress. The educators can also invite parents so they can track their students progress. It is a great website for educators, parents and students. I will most likely use this website in my classroom if it is easy to navigate.

This website is great for an "extra." This is very interesting, It shows the science of certain sports. Maybe students could read up on one of them and share with the rest of the class what it talks about. The students are learning about sports while incorporating science.

This site provides a number of safe websites that students and teachers can use to blog and/or discuss classroom assignments. This is a great way for students to ask teacher questions without having to wait till the next day. (If the teacher checks it regularly)
This site would be great to use when teaching an "energy" lesson. This website is all about energy and students can do riddles, puzzles, quizzes, etc. This is a tool that can further their knowledge. They can use this website at school or at home.

This site is great for when learning about presidents, inventors, women in history, and Ben Franklin. These games test the students on what they know and are interactive.

This site is a great site for teachers to access because they can gather teaching resources, share and collaborate online with other teachers, and they can look at the common core standards. This will come in use when people are starting out and just in general. It is always great to get another opinion of what other teachers are thinking and doing.
This website is amazing. I chose this website because it gives students problems to practice online which is great review for them after I teach a lesson. We can use this website in school or they can use it at home. It is for math but for hundreds of areas of math. The students just click on what they want to practice and ta-da!
