The Learning Network: Teaching and Learning with The New York Times - 0 views

I like this website because it features lots of articles and pieces all related to current affairs and politics. It would be a great resource for exposing middle schoolers and high school students to some cutting edge social studies issues. I would use these articles as discussion starters in my class.
  •
I think it can be somewhat difficult to relate social studies topics to current events, but it's something that will be important in order to make s.s topics more relatable. This site has so many current and relevant topics. I could use this site to help connect content or even just explore for myself to stay current on news.

I think this would really motivate my students, especially some of the boys because there were a lot of games that would piqué their interest (basketball, racing, skiing, etc).

PBS is a good website, it is very credible for parents and they dont have to worry about there kids if they are on this website at home.
  •
Educational games that relate to TV shows students probably have seen so it will be easy for them to relate. This will be a good way to get students involved in the classroom.
