I stumbled upon this site and think it's very helpful for teachers. It explains the difference between the PLN of a traditionally networked teacher versus the PLN of a Web 2.0 connected teacher. This goes to show that a Web 2.0 networked teacher has access to many more resources than a traditionally networked teacher. This website has a ton of suggestions on using instructional technology. It also gives suggestions and tools to create and then maintain a PLN as a teacher.

I just recently learned of this website from a teacher who has been using it in her class. She reports that it works great and really helps the students. It is basically an organizational education site for your classroom. Students can log on to Haiku and look at assignments and other upcoming things. Teachers can upload any resource they would like students to view. Similar to Moodle, students can submit homework online. Haiku can also be synced with Google, allowing things such as a Google Calendar to be implemented.

this website allows students to compete with on another using technology to answer questions about different subjects. I think this is a great tool because this allows students to go against one another and also uses hand and eye coordination too

This is a great website for educational games to use in the classroom. It has games from each of the subject areas. I will use it during different subject areas in my classroom.

Online Learning Games for kids are a great way to build the skills that kids need to succeed in school. These educational games for kids make learning fun with math facts, language arts, and more. This would be another option to reach different subjects and topics. This website also has a printable. The printable would be good for those students who may not want to use the computer but needs extra help.

This site provides many different subject areas and options for lesson plans. The site says they have over four thousand to choose from so I feel this site would be helpful. This site would be most useful when looking for ideas to go along with a lesson plan that I already created or to get ideas of subjects to make a lesson plan.

This also has free lesson plans for all grades, and all subjects. You could create a lesson plan too! The teacher could also get the magazine for this website. Again, I would use this for a resource and ideas.

If you students are over 13, maybe Facebooking would be ok. When I was in high school, my teacher created a page called, "English with Mr. Bormann." It was strictly school related and his posts generally had to do with what was due when. He would also post educational tools for us to use since most of the students had Facebook. I love this site for so many reasons. It is a great learning tool and it is also doing something good for the world. You can play anonymously, or make an account and track progress. It is a vocabulary challenge in which you are asked to choose the definition of a word from 4 options. If you get the answer correct, 10 grains of rice are donated through the World Food Programme to help earn world hunger. I can definitely see myself allowing students to do this during free time in class. I can also see myself offering it as extra credit. For example, so many grains of rice donated equals so many points extra credit to students.

I chose this website because not only does it help students learn about multiple subjects, but it also helps feed the hungry. After you get an answer correct, 10 grains of rice is donated to help feed the hungry. Depending on age level and subject, students could do this during free time or after a test.

I chose this website because practice of social studies skills from second grade through eighth grade. I would use this source as an extra study tool for tests.

I chose this website because it offered educational games for all level of students. It had ideas for team work games, as well as individual. I would use this site in the classroom to develop additional learning tools, such as some of these games to cover relevant topics to the subject I was teaching.

this is a unique website that allows students to use video, community, phone and presentation tools. Now that students are more enhanced in technology we need to do something about keeping them engaged in the classroom and implementing technology is a perfect way to do it.
