Web 2.0 is about revolutionary new ways of creating, collaborating, editing and sharing user-generated content online. It's also about ease of use. There's no need to download, and teachers and students can master many of these tools in minutes. Technology has never been easier or more accessible to all.

NASA.gov brings you the latest news, images and videos from America's space agency, pioneering the future in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research. I would have this during the solar system. I could have them look up NASA news. I feel this would be fun for some students to find more about NASA and their work.

Social Studies: I chose this website because it has great social studies lesson plans. These lesson plans are complete with standards, adaptations, discussion questions, helpful links, etc. The website is also very easy to navigate as well. I would use this in my class if I needed help thinking of a lesson for social studies. There lesson plans range in groups from K-5, 6-8, and 9-12. They also cover many different decades and important people in history.

Newsela is so helpful in general, but especially helpful to teachers that teach social studies or even a kind of current events class. At first the site seems like a simple news article site. It has a bunch of articles on current events or new discoveries. What's unique about it, though, is that you can get the same article in different ways based on lexicon. You can choose the lexicon level and based on that, the article is written at different levels. For gifted/talented students, they can be given a higher lexicon level version of the article. For students with special needs,

Discovery Education Web2014 : Web 2.0 Tools - Community - 0 views

XPrize-Community-building and collaboration are two defining aspects of Web 2.0. A range of tools enable teachers and students to communicate, collaborate and share work. Some, like Edmodo, are designed specifically for educators. This Twitter-like tool lets you create custom mini-communities for classes, clubs, parents, etc and push out assignments, reminders and updates. Others, like GoogleDocs, are for general use but conducive to inter- and intra-school collaboration-in real time. All are easy to use. Case in point: a wiki-the Hawaiian word for "quick"-can be set up in 5 minutes! According to the website.

this is a unique website that allows students to use video, community, phone and presentation tools. Now that students are more enhanced in technology we need to do something about keeping them engaged in the classroom and implementing technology is a perfect way to do it.
