Only 9.5% of Twitter traffic goes to "transactional sites", even less than the 14.7% from Facebook. To put that into perspective, Google UK sends over 30% of its traffic to transactional websites.
It is important to note, though, that Twitter's growth has slowed down dramatically over the last two months, as both the time per person spent on the site and Twitter's month-over-month growth only increased slightly since April 2009.
Twitter is a lot of things, and I salute the guys for providing the platform and building an impressive ecosystem, but at some point in time someone at Twitter HQ will need to step up and present what they plan for twitter in 2010.
