Thumb up is a group bookmark feature that we're experimenting. We're still evaluating thumb-up rating across the rest of Diigo bookmarking system since anti-spam is a concern. Rating should be meaningful to achieve its purpose - we thought voting in Groups, on the other hand, is more natural since it's already a better filtered env't and can provide value to group members when there are a lot of contributed resources.
This should make participating in Diigo groups much more useful for me.
