Founded in 2005, LeDi is located in China near Shanghai in Zhejiang province, a hub of transportation, trading and communications. The company has three copper wire production lines with total annual capacity of approximately 36,000 tons. In April 2009, LeDi received a license to import scrap metal directly from foreign countries, making it one of the only copper processing companies in China that is licensed to import scrap copper directly from the USA, thereby decreasing raw materials costs and providing a meaningful competitive advantage.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bay Acquisition Corp. (formerly known as SecureLogic Corp.) (OTCBB: SLGI) ("Bay Acquisition"), announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Zhejiang Ledi Electronic Technology Co., LTD. ("LeDi"), a copper processing enterprise located in China, which produces electrical copper wires in the wire and cable industries. The transaction is structured as an acquisition of LeDi's Samoan-based holding company.

Kobelco, a diversified Japanese group with interests ranging from copper to construction machinery, announced on 19th November that it is licensing one of its leading copper alloy products, used in terminals and connectors, to German firm Wieland. The company said that the deal would allow it "to establish a global supply network for copper alloys, especially for automotive applications." The announcement marks the second time Kobelco have expanded their global presence in the copper alloys market through such an agreement, with the company licensing the same technology to Aurubis Buffalo Inc for US manufacturing and distribution in 2008.

CHITA, September 10 (RIA Novosti) - A commission at Russia's mineral regulator has granted the Mikhailovsky mining company a license to develop a large copper field, Udokan, in East Siberia, a local government official said on Wednesday.

These are heady times for the thin-film solar industry. The sector's dominant player, First Solar, has been on a tear of late, recently announcing it would build a second 10 megawatt power plant in Nevada, while Miasole, once thought to be ailing, has staged an impressive comeback, raking in an eye-popping $220 million. Nanosolar has developed a new ultra-fast solar cell printer, and even giants like IBM and Applied Materials have gotten in on the game. In the face of such intense competition, how will HelioVolt, a well-funded outpost of CIGS manufacturing in Texas, fare? The company hopes a new hybrid, super fast CIGS process it has developed in collaboration with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), which combines its patented FASST process and NREL's non-vacuum deposition technique, will help even the odds. The Austin, Texas-based company licensed NREL's non-vacuum deposition process, which allows for the quick application of liquid precursors onto a printing plate and substrate, to manufacture its solar cells with a 12.2 percent conversion efficiency at a fraction of the regular cost and in record time - under 6 minutes. Another advantage is that the substrate can be made from a variety of building materials, including glass, metals, plastics and roofing materials.

DuPont Photovoltaic Fluoromaterials (PVFM) announced that it has signed a Technology Licensing Agreement with Toppan Inc. Printing Co. LTD, located in Tokyo, Japan, to commercialize its new backsheet for solar photovoltaic (PV) modules. This technical and business deal with Toppan is in line with the PVFM strategic intent to significantly increase the availability of DuPont Tedlar films and backsheet for the fast growing PV market, according to the company. "This collaboration combines DuPont's proprietary technology for Tedlar polymer in backsheets, with Toppan's unique coating capability," said Kelly Kolliopoulos, global business manager of DuPont's Tedlar Division. "We view the new backsheet technology as complementary to our continuing activities to increase the supply of Tedlar films in order to meet the industry's growth and demand for Tedlar."

But of all the contenders in the quest to produce the ultimate fuel-efficient car, this could be the first one to let you say, "Fill it up with air." That's the idea behind the compressed air car, a vehicle its backers say could achieve a fuel economy of 106 miles per gallon. Plenty of skepticism exists, but with many Americans trying to escape sticker shock at the gas pump, the concept is generating buzz. The technology has been the focus of MDI, a European company founded in 1991 by a French inventor and former race car engineer. New York-based Zero Pollution Motors is the first firm to obtain a license from MDI to produce the cars in the United States, pledging to deliver the first models in 2010 at a price tag of less than $18,000.

Solar Thin Films, Inc. (OTC BB:SLTN.OB), a developer, manufacturer and marketer of manufacturing equipment for the production of "thin-film" amorphous silicon photovoltaic modules, has entered into a strategic alliance and cross license agreement with Amelio Solar Inc. \n\nUnder the agreement, Solar Thin Films will market and sell photovoltaic products using copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) technology developed and commercialized by Amelio Solar, and has rights to manufacture PV module manufacturing equipment using CIGS technology subject to certain terms and agreements\n

BP has a lot of money, and they want to focus a big chunk into cellulosic ethanol. So, they're partnering up with Verenium and giving the company $90 million over the next year and a half in order to gain some of Verenium's technology and hopefully speed up commercialization of cellulosic ethanol. Looking towards sugar cane, miscanthus, and energy cane, they're hoping to scale up biofuel's availability from these and other sources. The $90m will go towards helping put up low-cost production facilities across the US, and will give BP licenses to intellectual property of Verenium. BP's president Sue Ellerbusch said that this partnership positions BP as having the best technology in cellulosic ethanol production and makes them leaders in the area. Not surprising since they're forming other partnerships that help them corner the biofuel industry, including partnerships with DuPont, Tropica BioEnergia and D1 Oils. BP's fuel sales during 2007 accounted for 10% of the global biofuels market. So they're serious about making sure that biofuels become more easily available.

Members will not charge royalties for patents that are essential for implementing low power receivers. A wireless power receiver is a 'low power receiver' when it is a consumer product, such as a mobile phone or battery, capable of receiving no more than 5 Watt from a wireless power transmitter. These royalty-free licenses are available until 2014.
