    The best place I have experienced and would like to recommend is Namkhan eco-farm everyone if you want to experience real Laos culture, It is situated in Luang Prabang, Laos. Their motive is to get people aware about Eco-farming and permaculture. The farm is highly diversified and it has tropical fruits, vegetables and herbs. The environment of Namkhan Eco farm is very beautiful, they have fascinating waterfall, spa area and outdoor exercise area and many more treasures. People from different countries visit this place, where you will not get to interact with native people only but also with people from different countries. You get good environment here where people get together, share meals and interact with each other. The place is enclosed with fascinating Buddhist temples and lovely mountain valleys where you can trek.

    Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh sound like reasonable places to book flights into/out of, in my opinion. I have been to both and they will be great places to start and end your trip.

    On your route, be aware that you will be making some big sacrifices with only 6 weeks to explore. You need to decide exactly what you want to do before you set off to ensure that you won't be disappointed. Exactly what you want to do may be floating around for 6 weeks moving around slowly with whoever you meet. If so, fine. But you won't be seeing all four countries in 6 weeks if that's what you decide. If you want to experience all four countries you need to do some planning, including looking up transport options. This isn't exactly my preferred way to travel, but sometimes needs must. You need to bear in mind that the more you want to see in a shorter space of time, the more you will spend and the more time (vs total time) you will spend on a bus!

    It's difficult to give too much advice without knowing more about your preferences and budget, but my 6 week agenda, starting in Bangkok and ending in Ho Chi Minh, would look something like this;
