Kaziranga National Park is a very popular national park in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of Assam. The sanctuary is known for housing two-thirds of the world's great one-horned rhinoceroses.
On 1st June 1905, 232 sq km area of the Kaziranga Forest was declared as protected to save the population of the rhinoceros. This initiative was taken by then Viceroy of India, Lord Curzon.
Many poaching activities had been reported in the Kaziranga National Park during past years.Regular patrolling and anti-poaching camps are created to check any such activity in the park.
aldapara National Park (formerly Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary) is a National Park situated at the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas in northern West Bengal and on the banks of River Torsa. The Park is situated at an altitude of 61 m and is spread across 216.51 km2 (83.59 sq mi) of vast grassland with patches of riverine forests. It was declared a sanctuary in 1941 for protection of its great variety flora and fauna. Today, it has the largest population of the Indian One horned Rhinoceros in the Country. On the South part of the Park Chilapota Range today became a natural habitat for Rhinos. This area also a Corridor for Asian elephants between Buxa tiger Reserve, Jaldapara National Park and nearby Garumara National Park (which is also known for its population of Indian rhinoceros. Nal Rajar Garh or Mendabari Fort in Jaldapara Park bears its testimony as ancient human habitats too.

The bus service is provided by the Assam State Transport Corporation between Guwahati, Tezpur and upper regions of Assam at NH 37. These buses stop at the main gate of the park.
