THE GRADY HOTEL is now open in Louisville, Kentucky, after an extensive renovation by owner Vision Hospitality Group of Chattanooga, Tennessee. It will be operated by Humanist Hospitality, a division of Vision. The 51-room luxury lifestyle Grady is Vision Hospitality's most recent upscale property, such as the recently opened Kinley Chattanooga Southside in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Work began on the restoration in March 2020. "The Grady is a special project for Vision, and we are excited to see how this restored, historic building tells its story to all who step inside," said Mitch Patel, Vision Hospitality Group President & CEO. "The Grady represents Louisville's one-of-a-kind spirit and welcomes both locals and guests to experience its refined comfort and cordial service." The Grady is near the Muhammed Ali Center, Frazier History Museum and the Louisville Slugger Museum. The building originally housed a medicinal bourbon apothecary built in the late 1800s by pharmacist J.B Wilder.

VISION HOSPITALITY GROUP has broken ground on the upscale AC Hotel Atlanta Perimeter Center in Atlanta. The 156-room hotel is expected to open in 2021. Chattanooga, Tennessee-based Vision Hospitality is led by Mitch Patel, president and CEO. AC Hotel Atlanta Perimeter Center will feature the first rooftop bar in Atlanta's Perimeter Center area. The hotel's library will provide novels for guests and the AC Lounge will be available for work and social gatherings. The hotel also will display a curated collection of art. Nearby are Perimeter Center Mall and offices for State Farm, UPS, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper and Mercedes Benz USA. Vision Hospitality has 10 hotels in the Atlanta metro area, including the recently refinanced 115-room Marriott Courtyard Duluth Sugarloaf in Duluth, Georgia, and the SpringHill Suites Downtown Atlanta. "The concept behind the AC Hotel Atlanta Perimeter Center is simple but powerful - edit away the unnecessary to allow guests to focus on what is most important to them," Patel said. "I am especially excited to introduce the rooftop bar, which will feature expansive views of Perimeter Center, Buckhead and Midtown."

VISION HOSPITALITY GROUP, led by Mitch Patel as president and CEO, recently broke ground on a dual-branded Home2 Suites and Tru by Hilton in Cleveland, Tennessee. The upcoming development, slated for completion in mid to late 2025, will comprise a combined total of 140 keys across five stories. The project will include 768 square feet of flexible meeting space and an outdoor pool, Vision Hospitality said in a statement. "We are thrilled to continue to strengthen our partnership with Hilton by expanding our portfolio with the addition of these two thriving brands and grow in a city that means so much to us," said Patel. "This development reflects our commitment to hospitality excellence and our dedication to providing our guests with exceptional service and experiences." Founded a quarter century ago, Chattanooga, Tennessee-based Vision Hospitality Group manages more than 4,500 rooms across 40+ hotels in nine states.

Michael DiMaria will be general manager of Vision Hospitality Group's Kinley Chattanooga Southside when it opens this spring in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Previously he was general manager at the company's TownePlace Suites and Residence Inn by Marriott in Nashville, Tennessee. DiMaria has received several awards, including the Marriott Gold Circle Award and Vision Hospitality Group General Manager of the Year. He has a bachelor's degree in hospitality services from Central Michigan University. "Kinley is more than just a lifestyle hotel - the inclusive nature is meant to foster relationships between guests and the city," said Mitch Patel, president and CEO of Vision Hospitality. "DiMaria is a forward thinking, hospitality-driven leader focused on delivering unparalleled experience to guests, making him a great fit for this position."

VISION HOSPITALITY GROUP will celebrate its 25th anniversary in April. The company, led by Mitch Patel as president and CEO, is now making plans for the next quarter century. Founded in 1997, Vision Hospitality began with a Homewood Suites by Hilton, Chattanooga/Hamilton Place Patel developed in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where the company is still headquartered. Then, as the U.S. economy struggled to overcome the 9/11 attacks of 2001, Patel went on to develop 10 more hotels. "Here, VHG learned agility and how to pivot, gaining a deeper understanding of how to successfully adapt to the ebb and flow of the hospitality and financial industries," the company said in a statement. VISION HOSPITALITY GROUP recently broke ground on its Embassy Suites by Hilton in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The seven-story 184-suite Embassy Suites will be developed for $54 million and includes rooftop and street-level bars and a coffee area in an open lobby. The project also includes a leasable restaurant space and 5,000 total square feet of meeting space, Vision said in a statement. Vision said it will bring an economic boost to the destination with more than 100 jobs ranging from senior management positions, guest service agents, housekeepers and others. With a construction timeline of approximately two years led by Humphreys and Associates Contractors, LLC, the hotel is expected to open in the summer of 2025. "We are thrilled to begin construction on this project in our hometown of Chattanooga, just steps from our company headquarters," said Mitch Patel, Vision's president and CEO. "This project is our first Embassy Suites hotel, and we know the brand's value-added services are a perfect fit for this location welcoming both corporate and leisure travelers." Embassy Suites by Hilton, one of Hilton's 19 brands. Amenities will include a fitness center and an evening reception. Embassy Suites by Hilton has more than 260 open hotels, with 42 properties under development. The Embassy Suites Chattanooga is one among 15 projects in Vision's development pipeline expected to open in the next two years. The company's portfolio comprises 16 properties in Greater Chattanooga and 41 nationwide, the statement added.

Mary Beth Cutshall is the new chief growth officer at Vision Hospitality Group. In this role, she will oversee the expansion of the company's U.S. hotel portfolio. Home2 Suites by Hilton is now open in Chattanooga/East Ridge, Tennessee. The 101-room, four-story hotel is owned by Vision Hospitality Group, led by President and CEO Mitch Patel. This is Vision Hospitality's second hotel opening this year. Construction of the hotel began in February 2023 and was completed in just over a year in collaboration with Wolftever Development, Vision Hospitality said in a statement. The hotel is located next to the company's Hampton Inn in a mixed-use area of East Ridge. "We are proud to continue our partnership with Hilton and broaden our presence in the East Ridge area by launching this Home2 Suites by Hilton," said Patel. "East Ridge continues to see significant growth with new developments, which creates a demand for quality accommodations. We are pleased to meet this need."

VISION HOSPITALITY GROUP is undertaking a multi-million-dollar renovation of its 115-key waterfront Celebration Hotel in Celebration, Florida, near Orlando. The hotel will be rebranded as "The Inn at Celebration, Autograph Collection" when the renovation is complete in November. The Tennessee-based hotel developer, led by President and CEO Mitch Patel, acquired the property in 2022. "When Vision Hospitality Group acquired this inn-style hotel set in Central Florida's natural beauty, we were investing in a hidden gem," Patel said. "Our renovation will preserve the traditional architectural elements of an inn while introducing creative design, full-service amenities, and modern enhancements to create distinct guest experiences." The updates include renovating all 92 guestrooms and 23 suites, adding a living room-style entry with lake views, opening the waterfront Lakeside Kitchen & Bar, expanding outdoor lounge areas, doubling the fitness center's size and refreshing 7,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, Vision said in a statement. Sustainability is also a priority, with efforts focused on reducing waste, conserving resources and using local produce in the restaurant menu.

THE DEBUT PROPERTY of Vision Hospitality Group's lifestyle The Tribute Portfolio, the Kinley Cincinnati Downtown, is now open in Cincinnati, Ohio. Two more are planned to follow in Vision Hospitality's hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and in Louisville, Kentucky. The 94-room hotel is in the city's Over-the-Rhine neighborhood with nearby attractions including the William Howard Taft National Historic Site, the Cincinnati Art Museum and Cincinnati Music Hall. Vision Hospitality, led by Mitch Patel as CEO, renovated the historic Denton Building, constructed in 1916 by Cincinnati architect Alfred Oscar Elzner, to house the hotel. Kinley Cincinnati Downtown décor features artwork showing local history local art pieces curated in partnership with the Cincinnati Art Underground. It includes the restored mural "Allegro" painted by artist Barron Krody for the 1971 series entitled Urban Walls: Cincinnati.

VISION HOSPITALITY HELD a "topping out" for its Tempo by Hilton Nashville/Midtown in Nashville, Tennessee marking the completion of a phase of construction on the 161-room hotel. The project remains on track to open by year-end. This is the first Tempo by Hilton property for Chattanooga, Tennessee-based Vision, led by Mitch Patel as founder and CEO, the company said in a statement.

TWO BOUTIQUE HOTELS owned by Vision Hospitality Group, The Grady Louisville Downtown in Louisville, Kentucky, and the Kinley Cincinnati Downtown in Cincinnati, have won different categories of this year's StayBoutique Awards by the Boutique Lifestyle Leaders Association. Mitch Patel, the Chattanooga, Tennessee-based company's president and CEO, was a runner up for BLLA's Iconic Boutique Hotelier. The Grady, which opened in June 2021 and recently reopened after a renovation, took first place for two categories in the BLLA awards, Boutique Hotel Design Project and Boutique Hotel Under 100 Rooms. The Kinley, opened in October 2020, took second place for Boutique Hotel Design Project "We are honored to be recognized in this year's awards program, and we couldn't have done it without our interior design partners," Patel said. "For each of these hotels, we take pride in the historic renovations and thoughtful design work that has gone into making them what they are today."

Nakul Anand, former executive director of ITC Hotels, has been named chairman of the advisory board for Tricone Luxury Hotels, a subsidiary of U.S.-based Tricone Engineers. Anand brings four decades of hospitality experience. He will oversee the company's continued growth in India, Tricone said in a statement. "We are thrilled to welcome Nakul Anand to our team," Alok Aggarwal, Tricon Luxury Hotels' CEO, said in an article on ANI. "His unparalleled expertise in the hospitality industry will be instrumental in shaping our company's vision and integrating sophisticated hospitality services and sustainability initiatives into our hotels and real estate projects." Tricone Luxury Hotels recently executed memorandums of understanding with Indian hotel brands and acquired land for a real estate project in Alibaug near Mumbai, which will be marketed soon. The company is set to launch luxury hotels and hospitality-oriented real estate projects in Alibaug.

WITH THE TENNESSEE River winding through downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee, as a backdrop, Mitch Patel, president and CEO of Vision Hospitality Group, welcomed nearly 300 guests to a formal gala recognizing his company's 25th anniversary on Thursday. Among the guests were local officials, brand leaders, some of Patel's fellow hoteliers and the VHG employees who he said made it all possible. "I know many of you are tired and have early flights tomorrow, so I'll do my best to keep this short but I have a lot of people to thank, I'm sorry," Patel said in his speech near the end of the gala, following many presentations and a full dinner on the terrace at the Hunter Museum of American Art. The museum is next door to The Edwin Hotel, one of VHG's several boutique hotels in Chattanooga alone. Some guests for the gala also enjoyed complimentary housing at The Edwin for the special anniversary event, which was announced in March.

HILTON WORLDWIDE HOLDINGS is working with Be My Eyes, a mobile app that connects blind and low vision users with sighted volunteers and companies through live video and AI, to provide more accessible experiences for guests with visual impairments. They are piloting an AI-powered assistance and dedicated support for reservations and customer care across the U.S. and Canada. Assistance is available across various Hilton brands, including Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, DoubleTree, and Hampton by Hilton, providing personalized support for leisure and business travelers who are blind or have low vision, the companies said in a joint statement. "As a leading hospitality company, Hilton is committed to creating an experience that is welcoming for every guest, at every hotel, every time," said Mike Gathright, Hilton's senior vice president of customer excellence and innovation. "We believe that every guest-regardless of ability or any other factor-deserves a reliable and friendly travel experience. We are proud to partner with Be My Eyes to make that a reality for thousands of users."

Nakul Anand, former executive director of ITC Hotels, is named as the patron-in-chief of the Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism & Hospitality. Anand served as the federation's chairman from its inception until recently. He represented the Hotel Association of India within FAITH, the umbrella body comprising 10 trade associations in the travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors of the industry, FAITH said in a statement. Rajiv Mehra, general secretary of FAITH, said that the decision has been taken considering Anand's "exceptional contributions and unwavering dedication to the tourism & hospitality industry" as former chairman of FAITH and former executive director of ITC Ltd. Under his leadership, FAITH drafted and presented a vision document for Indian tourism for 2035 and 2047, the statement added. Additionally, the International Travel Mart of India was launched. The federation also made interventions to address anomalies in GST, the ECLGS scheme of the government and more.

U.S. PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE Vivek Ramaswamy and AAHOA chairman Bharat Patel have delved into hospitality industry issues at the inaugural AAHOA 2024 Presidential Candidate Forum. The virtual forum allowed AAHOA members and viewers to hear directly from Ramaswamy about his policy priorities, his vision for the future of America and the role of Asian Americans in the hospitality industry, AAHOA said in a statement. "Ramaswamy's choice to directly engage with AAHOA Members highlights our industry's vital contribution to the nation's economy," said Bharat Patel, AAHOA chairman. "It was an honor to meet with him on behalf of AAHOA members. It's promising to witness a presidential candidate acknowledging the substantial influence that AAHOA members exert both as everyday citizens and as dynamic entrepreneurs and small business proprietors driving the hospitality industry of this great nation.'"

Moxy Boulder, a new hotel on University Hill in Boulder, Colorado, is now open. It is the first hotel to open in Boulder since 2018. The hotel was developed by Vision Hospitality Group, led by Mitch Patel as president and CEO, The Nichols Partnership, led by President and Founder Randy Nichols, and BMC Investments, led by Jarret Posner as chairman and founding partner. "We are thrilled to collaborate with The Nichols Partnership and BMC Investments on this project in this sought-after location and continue our longstanding partnership with Marriott," said Patel. "We look forward to introducing this unique experience to the Boulder community." Moxy Boulder has 189 rooms, 5,300 square feet of indoor and outdoor space and a fitness center. Marriott International's Moxy Hotels brand operates more than 125 properties in 25 countries.

KEVIN JACOBS, HILTON's CFO and president of Global Development, is the 2024 chair of the American Hotel & Lodging Association. The association also named new officers, executive committee and board of directors, including Mitch Patel, president and CEO of Vision Hospitality Group, as vice chair. The association also named other new officers, executive committee and board of directors. They include Liam Brown, group president for Marriott International, U.S. and Canada, as secretary/treasurer and Julienne Smith, chief development officer, Americas, for IHG Hotels & Resorts, as the chair of the AHLA Foundation Board of Trustees, AHLA said in a statement.
