Trusted Traveler Programs Can Expedite Immigration Clearance in US - 0 views

  •
If you are looking for a way to expedite your immigration process for traveling to domestic or international destinations, one of the Department of Homeland Security's Trusted Traveler programs might be perfect for you. When you apply for one of the four programs among TSA Precheck, Global Entry, NEXUS and SENTRI, the Department of Homeland Security will run a background check to ensure that you are a low-risk traveler. You are then issued a Known Traveler Number that you must enter when booking air tickets or other travel arrangements. Members of these programs are able to use expedited immigration lanes at land borders and participating US airports.

  •
A newlywed bride made headlines this week. But not because of her stunning gown or the wedding event's. It was because she missed her honeymoon over a damaged passport costing her almost $20,000 to reschedule. This not just a sympathetic bride's news going viral, but, a lesson for anyone who is being careless towards his/her damaged passport. Having a passport is not enough to fly. Even though your passport may be completely valid under US State Department regulations, the State Department is not the only agency involved in getting you where you want to go. FEDERAL MASK MANDATE FOR TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS LIFTED - 0 views

  •
A FEDERAL JUDGE in Florida has accomplished what travel and hospitality organizations have been advocating for months: ending a government mask mandate on airplanes and other forms of transportation. While the government had planned to keep the mandates in place until at least May, critics, including the U.S. Travel Association, said it had outlived its usefulness and a recent survey found most travelers agree. On Monday, U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle in Tampa said in her ruling that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had overstepped its authority in issuing the mask mandate, according to CNBC.com. The Transportation Security Administration later announced it would no longer enforce the mandate, although the CDC continues to recommend that people wear masks on public transit. Several major airlines announced that masks would not longer be required for passengers. Delta Airlines said in a statement that employees and customers could continue wearing masks if they chose. Also, the company said some enforcement of the mandate may continue in the short term as news of the TSA decision is spread, but communications to customers and in-airport signage and announcements would be updated to say that masking is now optional.
