    MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL REPORTED five percent global RevPAR growth in the fourth quarter of 2024, with a four percent increase in the U.S. and Canada and 7.2 percent in international markets. However, net income fell to $455 million from $848 million in the prior year. The company added more than 123,000 rooms in 2024, achieving 6.8 percent net rooms growth from year-end 2023, Marriott said in a statement. "Marriott achieved excellent results in 2024, as we delivered best-in-class experiences that helped drive strong demand for our industry-leading portfolio of brands," said Anthony Capuano, Marriott's president and CEO. "Full-year global RevPAR rose 4.3 percent, and with record gross room additions, net rooms grew 6.8 percent to more than 1.7 million worldwide."

The company ended the year with more than 577,000 rooms in its development pipeline and signed more than 1,200 deals-an average of three per day-totaling nearly 162,000 rooms globally. The company signed a record 608 deals in the U.S. and Canada last year, Marriott said in a statement. "2024 was a year of growth for Marriott, with regional milestones, segment entries, brand expansions, and market debuts," said Anthony Capuano, Marriott's president and CEO. "We remain focused on connecting people through travel, and I'm excited about the work our global teams are doing to drive growth, innovation, and deliver strong results for our owners and franchisees."

    Courtyard by Marriott Reno Sparks is now open in the Reno-Sparks area of northern Nevada. The four-story hotel, with 127 rooms and suites, is owned by Galaxy Hotels Group, led by CEO Jagmohan "Jag" Dhillon. The opening marks Galaxy's sixth hotel in Nevada, expanding its portfolio to 900 keys statewide. "Northern Nevada is experiencing impressive economic growth," said Dhillon. "To support the area's growing demand, we're excited to welcome guests to our brand-new Courtyard by Marriott Reno Sparks, where they can experience elevated accommodations and hospitality." The hotel includes an indoor pool, a 1,700-square-foot fitness center, an outdoor courtyard with a firepit, one meeting room and a collaboration room. It is located near Tesla's Gigafactory Nevada in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, the world's largest industrial complex.

    Moxy Boulder, a new hotel on University Hill in Boulder, Colorado, is now open. It is the first hotel to open in Boulder since 2018. The hotel was developed by Vision Hospitality Group, led by Mitch Patel as president and CEO, The Nichols Partnership, led by President and Founder Randy Nichols, and BMC Investments, led by Jarret Posner as chairman and founding partner.     NEXGEN HOTELS RECENTLY acquired the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Northwest in Tamarac, Florida. Hollywood, Florida-based AD1 Global will manage the 120-room property. Itasca, Illinois-based NexGen is led by principals Chris and Ron Patel. This marks their third acquisition of 2024, following the November purchase of the 150-room Maritime Hotel Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruiseport in Fort Lauderdale. "We are thrilled to add the [new hotel] to the NexGen portfolio," said Chris Patel. "The Fort Lauderdale area remains a key market for us, and the Fairfield Inn brand is a good fit for both the area and our portfolio."
