CLOUD-BASED HOSPITALITY software provider HotelKey has added its central reservation system to an already existing portfolio of its products for Extended Stay America. ESA already uses a portfolio of HotelKey products across its properties, including HotelKey's property-management system since 2018 and call center module since 2020, HotelKey said in a statement. According to the statement, HotelKey's CRS product includes direct connectivity to leading OTAs and GDS systems, a call center module, integration with channel managers and seamless integration with the HotelKey PMS. "We are excited to further expand our relationship with Extend Stay America," said Aditya Thyagarajan, co-founder and president of HotelKey. "ESA has an unwavering commitment to innovation and adoption of next-gen solutions. The new agreement is not only further validation of that commitment, but also brings HotelKey one step closer to our vision - helping enterprises across the hotel industry implement full-stack solutions that support owners and franchisees and hotel managers to effectively manage their properties from anywhere." Extended Stay America Premier Suites Duncan, located in Duncan, South Carolina, is now open. VMV Capital, led by Viren Patel as president, Mike Bhula as COO and Vinny Patel as CEO, developed and will manage the four-floor, 88-room property, ESA said in a statement. "We are excited to welcome the Extended Stay America Premier Suites Duncan," said Mark Williams, ESA's managing director for franchise development. "By expanding our footprint to this thriving area, we can meet the growing demand for extended-stay lodging, providing guests with the amenities and essential services to stay productive as they are away from home. As the extended-stay segment leader, it is our pleasure to work with companies like VMV Capital who invest in their communities to provide long-term accommodations and help us continue to meet the growing demand for extended-stay lodging." The property is located four miles from the Tyger River Sports Complex and Upward Star Center, the statement added. It is also near Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, BMW Manufacturing, Wofford College, USC Upstate, Converse College, Draxlmaier Group, Benteler Automotive and the Tyger River Industrial Park.

EXTENDED STAY AMERICA is continuing its support for The American Cancer Society with a new video series. The series will focus on ESA's Hotel Keys of Hope program that provides free and discounted rooms for cancer patients and their caregivers. The "Stay Stories" video series will feature the stories of families who have to travel for cancer treatment, such as Candace Bennik, the subject of the first video who traveled from her home in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Houston for treatment for stage four lung cancer. "One of ESA's core values is to put people first and care for our community, a sentiment that is demonstrated through our support of the ACS," said ESA's Director of Creative Services Holly Hester. "As part of this partnership, our goal is to help patients and their families overcome the financial stress of travelling for treatment and gain access to the care they need. We are honored to share their incredible stories."

SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY, LED by Nikesh Shah as president, recently broke ground on the first Extended Stay America Select Suites prototype in Wildwood, Florida. The 124-room, 4-story property is slated to open in early 2025, Extended Stay America said in a statement. "As the extended-stay segment leader, we are excited to unveil the Extended Stay America Select Suites prototype as we begin construction on the first property," said Mark Williams, ESA's managing director of franchise development. "The new construction prototype represents the next phase in the strategic growth of our economy extended-stay brand." The Extended Stay America Select Suites prototype aims to provide efficiency and practicality for longer-stay guests, the statement said. The property, spanning slightly over 50,000 square feet and constructed on 1.75 acres, includes apartment-like suites with full kitchens and on-site laundry.

May 2016 sees the launch of the first test phase of Bike Benefit program in Vienna, Graz and Bremen - supported by the Integrated Applications Promotion programme of the European Space Agency (ESA). The participants can cycle their way to great coupons and discounts from local businesses. With this project, Bike Citizens hopes to create incentives to help motivate more people to cycle in the city.

REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT, development and management firm VMV Capital recently broke ground on the Extended Stay America Premier Suites Duncan in Duncan, South Carolina. It is the first such property for VMV, led by Vinny Patel as CEO. The four-story, 88-room hotel is in Spartanburg County between Greenville and Spartanburg near many businesses, including BMW, Michelin, and Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, according to VMV. Other attractions include the Trapped in the Upstate Escape Rooms, Greer Heritage Museum and several parks. Construction is under way and the hotel is expected to open in summer 2023. Hotel amenities will include a fitness room and an onsite guest laundry.

The Extended Stay America Suites in Baytown, Texas, owned by Wayside Investment Group led by Miraj Patel as president, has reopened following renovations. Work done on the three-story, 82-room property included upgrades to guestrooms, public spaces, a refinished exterior, and new signage, with the aim of providing more current amenities and services to long-term guests, Wayside said in a statement. "We are thrilled to partner with Extended Stay America for the reopening of our Baytown property, replicating the current prototype in a comprehensive renovation that highlights our commitment to enhancing guest experiences and adding value through asset repositioning," said Patel. The property is near Space Center Houston, Pirates Bay Waterpark, Baytown Nature Center and The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Wayside said.
