I posted last week about how to travel for free by working around the world and in other countries. This week i wanted to highlight ways to just travel for cheap. Like small vacations that don't require working. Whenever you consider a trip of vacation, the big ticket items that cost the most is the transport there the accomdations and the tours or attractions once you are there. So thats what we will cover today. :)

    For Transportation:

If you are going to fly to your destination, consider using the "budget" airlines versus the well known and expensive ones. The cheapest airlines i've come across are: Turkish, EasyJet, Ryanair and Transvaia in Europe, Southwest and Spirit in the USA, and Air Asia, Tiger and Jetstar in Asia & Australia. Some of these airlines only go to specific airports, so consider driving an hour or two to a different airport or city.

If you want to fly with the big box airlines, consider signing up for a debit or credit card that awards frequent flyer miles for your purchases. I have bad credit, so this isnt an option for me, but you can get alot of miles this way and fly for free occasional.

If you are traveling in the USA or Europe, i would recommend using rail. Both Amtrack and Eurail offer different passes with various expiration dates. It's def worth checking out. It's much cheap than rental cars and taxis.

    For Accomadations:

With a hotel room averaging around $80- $120 dollars for the bargain rooms, they can def suck your money up.
