Having a variety of groups throughout the day I find that I am always looking for different ways to present a concept. This particular site had a multitude of activities for students and activities for educators (needing PD ideas).
Sue LaBella, Education World's early childhood editor, has created hundreds of activities for use across the year and the curriculum. Click any month on the list below to scan her list of activities for that month. Sue leads off this archive with her long list of "Anytime Activities."
This site has 36 online games to teach and reinforce important reading skills, and to help your students practice and enhance their skills.
Note from Gwen - This site would 'appeal' to reluctant readers.
Education World has links to news stories for teachers to share and discuss with students. News stories are based on their timelines and interest to students. I feel this would be a great website to implement in the classroom and use to teach students how to five the five w's (who, what, where, when, why) when reading a news article.
Students can act as engineers in this project. This is a great way to integrate multiple subjects into one lesson. They will also use significant Internet resources to complete!
