Education World: News for YOU - 0 views

Education World has links to news stories for teachers to share and discuss with students. News stories are based on their timelines and interest to students. I feel this would be a great website to implement in the classroom and use to teach students how to five the five w's (who, what, where, when, why) when reading a news article.

This site highlights reading reviews categorized by author, new books, coming soon books, series books and books into movies.  This is a terrific resource for kids who need a little help in choosing a new book or genre.  I'll be using this with my MS kids! I also like that it has podcasts of books as well!

Ever since its opening in 2013, San Francisco-based AltSchool has caught the attention of many in its unique approach to teaching pre-K through grade 8 students. As the debate over whether or not mobile phones should be allowed in the classroom rages on, a new study from CNN on social media and teens found that 13-year-olds can check social media sites up to 100 times a day, indicating a heavy dependence due to the need for approval.
