    Using newspaper to teach history is a great way to compare, contrast, question, think, reflect, feel, discuss and actually teach a child of this age to understand what a newspaper is and the process of the history of needing this type of media.
    These activities are great for those "end of the year" activities when you need to teach, the kids need to learn and a life lesson like this is a fun 'ah ha" moment.

    I like to use lyrics to help kids understand feelings, situations and other cultures. Using a culture that is different, yet the same, as yours helps kids see how music, words and a lot of other areas fall into who you are as a person because of your roots.
