Gifted ed is not a well-funded program in our district, so I found this for tips and insight...both educationally and as a referral source for parents/parenting.
This school has a zero tolerance policy on public displays of affection, and friend to friend hugging warrants an in-school suspension. In this case, I would say the inflexibility of this school policy has the potential to hurt kids. If a boy gets in trouble for hugging a friend at school, what message does that send?
