This lesson plan explores historical, political, social, and cultural aspects of the nation's capitol. The student is asked to tie-in their own congressional delegations, collect media files of specific sites in D.C., and make journal entries describing and detailing what they learn. It can part of an actual trip to Washington or web-adventure.

Brief Description Students read and act out folktales from various Native American cultures. Objectives Students will define the words folktale, legend, myth; demonstrate creative thinking and dramatic skills to dramatize a folktale; work together in cooperative groups. I thought this would be a great way to help students gain more understanding into this day in South Dakota!
