Fast food giant, McDonald's has decided to go green, Eco-green that is, for its fish meals. On Thursday McDonald's announced that it will now sell fish sandwiches and "Fishy McBites" in blue boxes with an Eco-label seal from the Marine Stewardship Council.

Loyola University of Chicago has developed a really cool process to help cut down on eutrophication and the use of water. It involves the use of fish, which supply nutrients to plants in the form of their waste. The plants clean the water for the fish while getting nutrients at the same time.

Banning the practice of throwing unmarketable or over-quota fish back into the sea is just one of the measures needed to deliver sustainable fisheries according to new research from the University of East Anglia.
