There are a handful of so-called Jewish/Israel advocates out there ridiculously lying about us, attacking us, and claiming we're anti-Israel and against the IDF. Here's a little flashback for ya: http://www.thejidf.org/2009/01/jidf-first-official-follower-of-idf-on.html - we were the very first to follow and promote the IDF on Twitter, or online in general for that matter.

If you encounter the idiotic and jealous attacks on us by a handful of dishonest morons who view Jewish/Israel advocacy as some sort of "competition" or something, people do nothing but regurgitate and plagiarize the news while spreading lies about us....and if you have any questions about their ridiculousness feel free to contact us directly about it. In the meantime, enjoy the most exciting stuff happening in music right now: http://youtu.be/N9GYqd-ZCdM

Tunisian Synagogue Set On Fire - Torah Destroyed - 1 views

  •
A Jewish Synagogue in the Tunisian city of Kabes was set on fire last night. The Jewish community spokesman said that the Torah books were completely burnt. The spokesman condemned the brutal action and stated that the purpose of the action was to increase the tensions between Jews and Muslims who have been living in peace for decades.

At least not for Pesach. Yes, this has apparently been ruled on: marijuana is hametz - if you're Ashkenazic. Otherwise, I guess you can ... what ... light up in the middle of seder? Kashrut - a far more interesting subject than you know. Note: You might want to view this one in Firefox, as I just had difficulty back arrowing out of this page in Internet Explorer.

This link is a reference, not a recommendation, showing a trend that bothers me immensely - that toward pushing G-d to the margins of Judaism. No, not everybody does that, but I see more people doing that than I can ever remember seeing doing so in the past. Yes, I understand - being Hebraic doesn't automatically make one religious any more than being French does - notice how I used the word "Hebraic" instead of "Jewish" - and I can understand an atheist wanting to hold onto his cultural roots. What I'm not so comfortable with is the idea of taking one of the parties in a covenant relationship, denying his existence, chasing him off to the far corners of our consciousness, and then acting as if the covenant relationship had not been breeched in the process. OK, yes, I know that the people we're talking about are Jewish, as a matter of Jewish law. I respect that, as I must, but I'm not sure that I really want to call what they're doing "Judaism".
