bkozlek on 11 Jan 11office 365 seems to be a new offering that bundles licenses for the desktop version of office along with the cloud-based versions. The author of the zdnet article seems to feel that bundling the desktop versions is a big plus, but I don't really see it. I think one of the pluses of google docs is that it is much more simple and easier to use than ms word.

Cole Camplese on 12 Jan 11I agree on some levels. It seems it would be important to have the desktop version over the short term until a new group of students show up with no recollection of desktop services. I think we are living in a bit of space between with this issue. With that said I am dismayed to think we are planning for only that space. There are so many issues surrounding the future here.
