This is a site that contains a list of all search engines that children can use. This is great for teachers because it is a place to direct their students to when the students need to do research. These search engines put the material in simplier terms and are better tools for children to use then regular search engines such as google or yahoo.

This website has a variety of different uses for teachers which includes a puzzlemaker and a lesson plan library. This site is especially useful for new teachers because there is an entire section devoted to helping new teachers with numerous tips for them.

Parents as Teachers is the overarching program philosophy of providing parents with child development knowledge and parenting support. The organizational vehicle for delivering that knowledge and support is Parents as Teachers National Center. The National Center drives that philosophy, or mission, through four program areas: Born to Learn, Professional Development, Meld and Advocacy. All of these program areas work through a strong network of state leaders and partners. The four-part intervention model known as Born to Learn delivers its mission-based program through intermediaries (parent educators) to the ultimate recipients (parents), while Professional Development is delivered directly to end users (professionals). Meld is a facilitated group model that draws on peer support. Advocacy works through both public and private sectors to promote positive policies for young families. Although several vehicles are used to implement the mission-based programs, the network is an organized affiliation of many organizations and people with a common mission. This combination of delivery vehicles allows the National Center to have the greatest and broadest impact.

It provides a survival guide for new teahcer, what to expect your first year, and teacher cancellation or deferment options. It provides a lot of useful informaiton for teachers that are handling their first classroom on their own.

Lots of writing opportunities and advice. Many students use this site for citation reference.

This site is helpful for writing formats, guidelines, refreshing on grammar and mechanics, etc. It is updated regularly and maintainted by the English Department at Purdue University.
