This is a awesome resource for all reading teachers. As far as I know it is primarily for K-5 teachers. If you click "Instructional Materials for Teachers" it gives a plethora of lessons for your students. It provides lessons in fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and phonics. I have used this as a resource and have had great success.

I did my book review on The Cafe Book and I believe Elvisa did her's on The Daily 5. This website is a website created by the Two Sisters who wrote both books. There are videos and articles to help implementation. If this is something you are doing in the classroom I highly suggest buying a subscription. It is very helpful in the journey of making The Daily 5 and Cafe successful in your classroom.

I have heard a lot about this book in recent months. The hand selection of books is amazing. I could not imagine doing that for my students. I like a lot of the ideas that you wrote about like the readers notebook and surveys. I am glad I read your review. Now I have more information about it and it sounds pretty inspiring. This will definitly be on my "to read" list! Thank you!

Gill, S.R., & Islam, I. (November 2011) Shared reading goes high-tech. The Reading Teacher 65.3 . Retrieved from Educators Reference Complete.

There is so much emphasis on using technology in the classroom now. It can be overwhelming figuring out how to take what you have been doing in the past and adding a technology aspect to it. This article describes how to best use an interactive white board during shared reading, which is a strategy that is commonly used in the elementary classroom. Shared reading is when a class read a text together, at the same time. They may read a book or a poem in large print, to practice reading. Students may choral read, read in different groupings, or make actions for different parts of the text. Students read the same text multiple times. Through the use of interactive white boards this is now easier than ever. Interactive white boards give education a whole new look. It is easier than ever to display things for the students to see. This article gave multiple examples on how to take shared reading to another level. There are some neat tips in the article.
