This is an example of a "Stoplight" bulletin board used for classroom management of behaviors. According to the website, "Post a stoplight pattern like the one shown above on the board and staple enough library card pockets next to it so that each student will have one. Number the pockets and assign each student a number. Place one green stoplight tag in each pocket. Cut out a dozen tags in yellow, orange, and red, and place them in pockets near the base of the stoplight. Students start each day with a green tag. When a student engages in an off-task behavior, place a yellow tag in his or her pocket as a caution. If another incident occurs that day, place an orange tag in the pocket and follow up with a previously determined consequence. For serious infractions, place the red tag in the pocket. At the end of the day, record the colors shown in each pocket on a class chart. Remove the yellow, orange, and red tags so that everyone will have a fresh start the following day."

This app record behaviors all around the world, but was designed for teachers. Teacher's Class BEHAVIOR helps you record behaviors/actions throughout the day. It allows you to create a list of students to be monitored, organize your students into individual classes, use the default behaviors/actions or edit them to your needs, differentiate between good and bad behaviors, record behaviors by simply tapping a button next to a name, review recorded behaviors in a daily log (each daily log will contain the name, behavior, and time), review saved logs for weeks, and email yourself saved logs.

The Random Student app allows teachers to enter up to 20 different class lists of up to 99 students per class. The teacher can then click on the dice button to select a student randomly from the list. It also allows allows the teacher to create groups of students from sizes of 2 - 6. Other features include recording student absence (so their names are not called), keeping track of number of times the student is called on, keeping track of correct and incorrect responses, calling student at random and having the device speak the name aloud, generating random student groups of 2-6 students (and then select a student randomly in each group if needed), customizing groups individually by moving students who cannot work together, as well as backing up/importing data from Dropbox.

Not only do these videos help promote student health and fitness, but it can also be a way to give students a break to clear their minds and help improve academic performance. If students seem tired, aren't participating to their potentials, or are simply frustrated and need a break, teachers can play these videos to wake students up for an "exercise break." This also can be an effective way teachers can manage their classroom and help take control when things get out of order. Several studies have suggested that the more exercise a student gets, the better his/her grades are likely to be. Also, other studies have suggested higher levels of fitness are associated with better behavior and less absenteeism.

Screen Time is an app that allows you to set limits on the amount of time your students use an iPhone or iPad. Set a time length, press start, and pass it to your students. After the time expires, a series of notifications will prevent your students from using the device until you enter the correct passcode. This is a great tool in controlling free time, use during instruction and activities, or even assessments.

Nearpod allows teachers to use their iPads to manage content on students' iPads, iPhones or iPods. "It combines presentation, collaboration, and real-time assessment tools into one integrated solution." Nearpod is a great application for teachers and schools that have access to a set of iPads, iPods or iPhones for their classrooms as well as internet connection.

ClassBadges is a free online tool where teachers can award badges to students for different accomplishments or mastering academic concepts or tasks. Teachers can award badges that are customized for their classroom or school. Badges can be aligned with academic goals or with existing school awards.

Teachers can freely walk the classroom, stand side by side with students, and be anyplace they're needed while still able to access all the functions of their computer. It is a great way to combine a game with behavior management. Teachers start the game and project the scoreboard, teach their lesson as usual, referee the game by awarding bonus points and penalties, and then reward high scoring students throughout the day. It does not require any special software or plug ins. It runs completely in your web browser.

TeacherKit is a personal organizer for teachers. It enables teachers to organize classes as well as students. Its simple and intuitive interface enables teachers to track the attendance, grades and behavior of students.

ClassDojo is a free classroom tool that helps teachers improve behavior in their classrooms quickly and easily. It also captures and generates data on behavior that teachers can share with parents and administrators. Socrative is a smart student response system that allows teachers to engage their students through a series of educational games and exercises via smartphones and tablets. Teachers control the questions and games on their laptop, while students respond and interact. Socrative is simple to set up and there are a variety of options for you to use. You can ask multiple choice questions, have exit tickets to gauge understanding, you can include pictures in your questions, and you can also have short answer questions as well. This allows for effective and easy classroom management.
