Incredible experiences that these students are having! These teachers are not just letting their students venture out into this brave new world of social media alone, but they are providing them with the essential skills of what it means to be a digital citizen. If Skype is such a powerful tool, it is sad to see that it is not being used for educational purposes. Social media is such a prevalent part of modern society especially for kids and teens. Over all, I feel that educators are scared that it will cause distractions on the students, students might use the tool improperly, or plainly the educators do not have the proper trainings they need to incorporate it into their classrooms.
