Extra Notes for Kirin3 Labs from Freescale - 0 views

  •
Freescale offers many documents for its latest connectivity microcontroller Kirin3, MCF52259. I believe most of the people will start to evaluate the labs without reading the documents. I am one of these guys who hate reading documents. However, it is worth to read the document if you have no experience on CodeWarrior and ColdFire.

How to use a digital signal controller (DSC) to drive a high-brightness RGB LED for a p... - 1 views

  •
High-brightness RGB LED popularity for lighting applications is increasing as the cost of these devices becomes more attractive. However, this type of component brings different design complexities when compared to regular LEDs. To efficiently drive high-brightness LEDs, a switched power supply is required and a color mixing algorithm must be implemented. This article describes a simple application in which a digital signal controller (DSC) is used to drive a high-brightness RGB LED for a pixel board, several of which are connected on a network to create an RGB matrix.

USB solutions from Freescale - 0 views

  •
You can select a wide range of core speeds for the Freescale USB micros, ranging from 2.1 MIPS to 410 MIPS. Of course, the high speed cores offer the USB feature only as a very small subset of the total features and peripherals. This possibility makes the Freescale USB products quite versatile, allowing them to find themselves in the most various applications

Generally, the "estimator" is defined as a dynamic system that estimates state variables. There are basically two forms of the estimator implementation: open-loop and closed-loop. In the case of the closed-loop estimator, the error between estimated and measured state variables is used as a correction term to adjust the response of the estimator. The closed-loop estimator is also referred to as an observer.

Car Door Keypad Using LIN Freescale - 0 views

  •
Car door keypads have traditionally comprised of micro-switches that directly carry the motor currents used to operate windows and mirrors. In the case of electrically operated folding mirrors, a single multiple contact switch unit controls six motors in both directions.

More Demo Labs and Ecosystems for ColdFire Kirin3 - 0 views

  •
There are too many choices available in the embedded market. In order to develop a good product and release it within schedule, the engineering team has to reply on a mature and affordable platform, or ecosystem. Because the dependency is so tight and system becomes more complex, it is hard to change from one to another. The success or failure for an embedded product has been decided from the very beginning. That is also the reason why Freescale presents MQX solution with Kirin3. However, it is not a bad idea to check out the alternative solutions.

Installing Debian (ARM) on QEMU - 0 views

  •
Let us explore how to install a full Debian distribution on an emulated ARM926 machine with QEMU. The consumer now have alternative choices for their devices. On the other hand, the developers can leverage the native compiler coming with the ARM Linux distribution to build their projects with less effort. No more cross-compiler is necessary now. You can also setup a build farm to speed up your native build with distcc. The development requirement is almost identical to the desktop system.
