Back in July, Microsoft had extended its native personal digital assistant, Cortana , to the Android OS platform by making the beta version of the app available to select Android developers in the US and China. Recently, the company has released an update for the app that makes selecting Cortana over Google Now as the phone's default voice assistant easier.

Microsoft recently launched its very own voice assistant, Cortana. Smart, sassy and a know-it-all, it's nearly as easy to fall for her as for Scarlett Johansson's AI in hit film Her.

Incorporating voice assistant into a platform for managing tasks verbally is something which has been around for quite some time now. Apple's Siri, Microsoft's Cortana, and Amazon's Alexa are a few examples of virtual assistants that have been a hit amongst users. Following this trend, Einstein Voice recently made an appearance as the freshest addition by Salesforce.

Microsoft has introduced new Skype app for Windows Phone 8.1 at Build conference in San Francisco. The app is not released yet, but will be coming soon for Windows Phone 8.1 users.
