Free! METRYX is a formative assessment tool that allows teachers to "track, analyze, and differentiate" students across any number of customizable skill sets. Teachers can import class rosters and any number of skill sets via a CSV file, and then individually track students across each skill set as they perform various classroom activities. The granularity of these activities is completely at the discretion of the teacher, though Metryx appears especially useful for project-based learning, skills demonstration, and other activities where multiple-choice assessment data can't fully convey student progress. 

Students become engaged learners through this unit that prepares students for studying ancient Greece and combines learning basic research skills with digital storytelling skills.  While researching about Greek gods, heroes and creatures, students learn how to find main ideas in sentences and paragraphs in books and Internet articles, which they then learn to record in short phrases on index cards divided by topic.  Working with a partner, students turn these short phrases into the script for their digital story that includes music and pictures.

The site has an extensive library of tutorials covering many different areas, including 3D, illustration and text effects to name but a few. It also has a Basix section for beginners so users of all skill levels can learn the art of photo manipulation, retouching, icon design, text effects, and much more.

This curriculum guide is designed as a supplemental resource to the Final Cut Studio Certification materials.
