    Hi,

When preparing a lesson, I often check out these sites for inspiration and guidance.

    1. Art 21 http://www.pbs.org/art21/

The artists interviews/videos are wonderful to share in class! I usually start with an introduction (artist) powerpoint presentation for the students, and share an article to get them familiar with the artist, then we watch the video. This teaching strategy has worked for me, it prepares the students and helps them make that "connection" when they see the video.

    2. Visual News http://www.visualnews.com/

It's quite the random site but I enjoy checking out the work every week. It's introduces me to all types of art around the work. Photography, sculpture, installation, etc. Many times, I find myself looking up some of the artists and reading more about their work so I can incorporated to a class project. This site is popular with my students, it's provides a mixture of visual work and just enough text to keep them interested.

    3. Arte al Dia http://www.artealdia.com/

Since I live and teach in Central America, I try to expose myself to Latin American art scene so I stay current and what are the popular themes that are being explored by Latin American artists. I really like presenting some of these artists in class. I think it's important for international students to know about artists of their country. It would be a shame for a student to live Latin America and not be exposed to the art festivals, biennales and centers happening in their backyard.
