Organizing/tagging of our bookmarks - 46 views

It seems like tags are how our bookmarks here are organized, but I'm feeling like things could be improved... I don't have the same sense of security with tags that I do with folders and nested folders as an organizational structure. Maybe I just need to get over it, or go through and add some tags of my own to the current collection of bookmarks, but my first reaction is one of being overwhelmed. This is not specific to this group, it is the same across all social bookmarking, but I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on this topic.

    Thanks Tami!
that's awesome. I do wonder about this issue in a global sense of using shared social bookmarking software. I just feel like I'm missing something in terms of the functionality of the software (whether its Diigo or Delicious.) I guess it is inherent in the software that it's up to the users to define the most useful tags, but I'm wondering if a "group" in Diigo (focused on a topic like tablets) could specify a global tag to be attached to all user generated tags. In this case, it seems like our global group tag would be "tablet_".

Maybe I need to do some research into tagging to learn more about it.
    thanks!!
