This article is very surprising to me. It shows that a lot of society likes to exaggerate the negative effects of this drug. It is a nice sigh of relief for me to see an ADHD patient coming out and writing what he believes to be the truth, that the drugs bad sides are only revealed if taking the pill is abused badly. However, if more articles like these were published, I could definitely see Adderall and Ritalin being used on an every day basis for high schoolers, which is something that could expose the actual bad sides of the drugs.

The part of the article that stood out to me was the fact that many non ADHD users took tests after using the drug and thought they did better, but, in truth, did exactly the same. Maybe for many people, Adderall is acting as more of a placebo that makes them think they are more focused and therefor become slightly more focused. If this is the case, then maybe they should be using something that is absolutely harmless. I think that it is encouraging to know that Adderall is not particularly harmful, but it seems pretty clear that medically we don't know too much about it yet. Until we learn more about long term affects, I think coffee will remain to be more popular.
