I found this article interesting because March madness is a fun thing and it is interesting to see statistics on how it affects people and businesses beyond the couch. What is the best way to measure worker productivity?
San Francisco: #1 City for Growing Income Disparity - 12 views
-
I never thought that the income disparity in San Francisco was growing so fast, but now that I think about it, it all makes sense. I certainly knew that property values in SF have skyrocketed in recent years, but it is news to me that all classes except the 95th percentile have not done as well since the crash of 2008. Like Alan Berube, I hope to see many lower class people move to the middle class while still staying in San Francisco. And hopefully that will cause more people to move to San Francisco because of the surplus of lower paying jobs that have been abandoned by the growing middle class. In the future, I can't seem to see the income disparity getting any bigger because we already exceed the national average by so much. I think we will see many people who are rich from the technology boom start to move to places like silicon valley.
