How do you think the "silent is sexy" model plays into rape culture? Do you agree that this "date script" creates female oppression? What was your initial reaction when the author accused "tell me when to stop" as being sexist? What is your idea of being respectful? Did this opinion piece change your views on how to approach sexual experiences?

(sorry lots of questions, but very interesting idea approached)

I agree that in general there is the expectation that women will be the ones to put the breaks on. However, I think especially in teen culture, girls are expected to be okay with whatever the guy wants or else will be considered "prude". This leads to a lot of girls being the silent ones and then regretting it later. I do see how this contributes to rape culture because I agree that there needs to be more communication between partners to ensure that everyone is on the same page.
