When I found this article on the onion I was hoping it would be mocking the gross amount of coverage Justin Bieber's dui has been getting on the news. Is it appropriate that his experiences/mistakes/life should be blown so out of proportion? Or is it important that the idol of so many kids in America be very publicly chastised for his mistakes, in order to prevent kids copying them?

I like how this article points out how the ludicrous, over analyzed but one sided view we have of Justin Bieber. "World makes laughably naive judgment that Justin Bieber has hit rock bottom."
I wonder why we are so obsessed with the demise of pop idols. Does it make us feel better about ourselves?

I think it's hard to be famous-regardless of age-because the media follows everything you do, whether it be good or bad. In this case, the media has been following Bieber from his first hit on Youtube to his last DUI. While I think it's truthful to document the bad aspects of Bieber's latest mistake, I don't think it's the most important thing to cover in the media. Journalists, producers and other entertainment venues spend the majority of their time covering issues about famous people that are not as important as other global issues around the world. Why are we covering his DUI when there are bigger problems everywhere else in the world? Everyone is human and humans make mistakes, however if you're famous and make a mistake, what you did is blown up all over the internet and in magazines, which I think is unfair, despite what s/he did.
