In theory, this should be a great tool for any journalist to improve awareness of his/her bias. What do you think?

i thought this test was very interesting but i feel that it is somewhat inaccurate because sometimes you get into a rhythm of clicking the buttons and you can choose the wrong key for the face.

Although on some occasions students will just forget to read the instructions for the face matching thing and will associate a black male with the word "terrible" on accident, it does a good job at emphasizing the fact that although most of us might think that we are saints as we don't have any racial or gender bias whatsoever, most of us do have at least some sort of a bias toward people of other races or other genders, and we may not even notice. These biases are buried so deep in the subconscious that we never notice, and this test did a good job exposing that.

For me, the test proved to be almost under the assumption that I had some racist aspect of me that I was surely hiding. The questions about race were very blunt and some of them seemed to make no logical sense to answer. I found myself having to stop and think longer than I probably should have for some of the questions because the list of answers provided all seemed equally offensive. I agree with Sam A. on the intention of the test, I just didn't like how it was presented.
