This list of online vocabulary resources is great for helping English language learners enrich their academic vocabulary repertoire. Note from Julia G: I also use vocabulary.com (PC and App). I like the Progress page where you ( and students) can actually see the level of engagement with the site.

Thanks Julia Don't the students find the definitions complex. I've seen quite a few and wouldn't expect the students to understand . - or do you get them to wrote their own. What levels do you do it for?

Adrian - as per our on the stairs chat - not really suitable for lower levels. I get SS to interact quite extensively with the words they choose and certainly encouragie them to find a definition that they can remember and add that to the notes for the word.
