  • What are some of the key requirements for successfully integrating technology in your classroom? Not surprisingly, one requirement is adequate and effective professional development.
  • implement technology stress the need to work with teachers to weave technology-based activities into their existing curriculum in order to stretch—rather than add to—their instructional repertoires.
  • 1) teachers are at various levels in their knowledge and use of technology, 2) staff development for instructional technology needs to be based on what are currently construed as "best practices" for teachers' professional development, and 3) teachers' professional development in technology may well serve to further larger goals of school reform.

Historyteacher.net Index - 0 views

I am glad that I came across this site. It is created by Ms. Pojer, an AP History teacher who has shared different sites, information, and projects from her own students. There are over 100 different topics to choose to research on this site ranging from History to Government and a lot more than you need for just one class. I love how you can see what work she has done with her students as well as the fact that she has ways to help other students around the world. You can see the love and care for students in general through this site, I think it would be a great source for students and teachers alike.

The First Census: America in 1790 | Teachinghistory.org - 0 views

  • This lesson has a strong emphasis on analytic thinking and historical causation. Students engage with online maps, analyze census data from 1790, and read secondary sources (select either Map Tab or Documents Tab) to make evidence-based claims about why various states’ representatives held the positions they did on the Great Compromise and the Three Fifths Compromise. Students examine the impact of these two major political compromises on states’ political power, congressional representation, and representation of the enslaved population

I like this site, I chose to share one of the lesson plans that it gives for a secondary History teacher to use with his/her students. You can search the topic you are going over in class and then find a lesson that goes along with it. This lesson meets the State Standards for World History at the secondary level and has a few good tips and planning strategies, as well as a rubric for this particular lesson. The students will be using the internet as a source to find the census from 1790, and locate maps from this era.
