Pinterest is an online social pinboard or bulletin board where teachers can "pin" images or videos to their pinboard. This website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests, hobbies, and more.

This website is very beneficial to educators. It provides some of the latest articles (like the articles we have been reading for assignments) for free! Stay in touch with professional opinions and "how to's" during the school year and summer. This website also gives educators a place to blog and communicate with one another. I'm posting this website because with all the articles I have been reading for class, it seems like our school system is failing and many people are unaware of the changes. (or lack there of) I want to keep myself updated on the latest information!

Generations United provide a connections between people who are trying to bring resilience to their school or community, and grants, scholarships and new creative ideas. Generations United improves the lives of children, youth, and older adults through intergenerational programs, policies, and strategies. I'm posting this website because our discussion for chapter four focued on bringing resilence to the school. This website provides different strategies to do so. :)

SABES promotes high quality adult basic education services through training, support, and resources that improve the skills and knowledge of practitioners and strengthen programs. I'm posting this website because we have talked about what makes a "good teacher". This website has great articles (you could use for referenes) and Adult education on many subjects. Most of the training is "basic", however there are some teachers in the district who can't respond to email because they are not computer savvy. This website provides basic information on how to use the computer and other "basic needs"

This website is a program that is used nationally. (Even in Atlanta Ga) The program brings in professionals to discuss bullying, help children learn community safety and some self-defense classes. The website keeps the public updated on leading causes faced by children in this age and time. I'm posting this site because in our reading we have been discussing problems children face every day, and how to prevent these problems. I saw many of my classmates discussion bullying and some eating disorder. This website provides prevention activities you could also use in the classroom!

Math is a deficit area for most students. This web based program is excellent in motivating students to learn math concepts. It allows students to start at various levels. It provides immediate feedback on responses. Also, it provides a tutorial to explain incorrect responses. Most importantly it allows students to progress at their own individual rate and receive rewards for their success throughout the program. This program can be used at home or school to improve math skills. I thought this program would be beneficial for teachers to use as a class resource for visual learners or as a tool for remediation of specific skills.
