Tigerair, created in 2004, is a leading Singapore-based budget carrier that provides affordable travel choices and also a seamless consumer experience.
Tigerair includes namely Tigerair Singapore, four airlines, Tigerair Australia, Tigerair Philippines and Tigerair Mandala. Collectively, the Group's network also includes more than 50 destinations across 13 countries in the Asia-pacific. As at 31 July 2013, Tigerair runs a fleet of 47 Airbus A320 family aircraft, averaging less than three years of age.
    Awards won by Tigerair include:
Top Airline by Increase in Cargo Carriage at the Changi Airline Awards 2013
Leading Airline by Growth in Passenger Carriage (Singapore) at the Changi Airline Awards 2012 for three years in a row
Best in-flight meals in the low cost airline kind in the Asia-pacific Airline Food Awards 2012
Tigerair empowers individuals to investigate new destinations and accumulate memorable experiences by providing an elevated network of destinations and affordable travel options. It's also committed to maintaining the highest standards of security, safety and reliability.
Tiger Airways Holdings Limited (SGX: J7X), is just a holding company for a group of low cost airlines operating within the region.
The holding company was formed in 2007 to enable easier management of the four subsidiaries, as well as any future growth, without needing to concentrate on operational problems, leaving those to the airlines themselves.
Revenue improved by 82% in the same period, even though the business hasn't announced when this means any gains. The firm claims that its Australian operations are creating positive cash flows without a demand for cross subsidies from its Singapore operations, however there are concerns that its "positive cash flows" may have taken into account forward bookings into the next financial year.
