State Maps

As a cornerstone of the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) National Geospatial Program, the National Map is a collaborative effort among the USGS and other Federal, State, and local partners to improve and deliver topographic information for the Nation. It has many uses ranging from recreation to scientific analysis to emergency response.

State maps range from simple outline maps, to highly detailed maps with counties, roads, rivers, cities and parks. Map Resources also offers maps that are cut exactly at the state border, or framed maps that include areas of adjacent states.

The State-based County Outline map series for 2000 consists of a page-sized PDF map of each state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Island Area that shows the boundaries and names of their counties or statistically equivalent areas.
