Various scenarios were developed with practitioners that described the following: 1) A patient who was acutely ill, 2) a critical medical management event that occurred during a bed-to-wheelchair transfer of the patient, and 3) an occupational need. Students rated the simulation transfers as effective teaching tools and rated the transfers as more difficult than the practitioners had rated them. Using simulated transfer scenarios seems as if it would be a great way to promote clinical reasoning skills of students.
