At my clinical site, all patients have a home evaluation completed and necessary equipment ordered prior to discharge if it has not already been completed. This is not the case in other settings, which leaves SCI patients at home most likely with limited mobility causing functional decline.

There is a lower reported level of satisfaction with these individuals compared to the general population. Low satisfaction ratings were reported in money matters, sex life, and employment. This can provide occupational therapists with insight into topics to address when considering a plan of care and discharge planning.
