One of the biggest problems in health care today is the high rate of readmissions to acute care facilities. 19.4% of hospital patients will be readmitted within 30 days and 51.6% will be readmitted within 1 year. Occupational therapy can play a major role in reducing the rate of readmission by enabling clients to gain as much independence as possible with all required tasks in their daily lives.
