This article explores the professionalism of fifteen Australian occupational therapists. The researchers employed a semi-structured interview involving face to face and phone interviews. In their introduction, the researchers state that the values of a profession are shaped and influenced by the surrounding societal, institutional, cultural and political environments. Following their interviews, the researchers discovered three overall categories of professionalism; client-therapist relationship, occupational therapy knowledge, and selfless values. Client-therapist relationship includes empowering clients, honoring the client's priorities and goals, and understanding the client as an individual. Occupational therapy knowledge involves self-reflection, problem-solving, advocacy, leadership, and working as a team member. Lastly, selfless values were warmth, kindness, humility, perseverance, and respect demonstrated by the occupational therapist.
