Like digital learning in general, blended learning is flexible and comes in many shapes and sizes. In their 2012 report, "Classifying K-12 Blended Learning," the Innosight Institute identifies four models schools are currently using to blend learning. The following is adapted from their report.

Monday we're holding a conversation about blended learning.  Following is a list of some of the questions we'll discuss and some resources for developing answers.

Innosight Institute defines blended learning as: a formal education program in which a student learns at least in part through online delivery of content and instruction with some element of student control over time, place, path, and/or pace and at least in part at a supervised brick-and-mortar location away from home. Innosight Institute's research indicates that there are four models of blended learning that categorize the majority of blended-learning programs emerging across the K-12 sector today.
