Free version of Word Magnets. Really useful especially if you have an interactive whiteboard. Lots of different ways of arranging letters into words, categories, order, etc. And of course you can arrange whole words too. (Don't click on the Word Magnets 2 link unless you want the paid-for site licence - but if you do it's a great site to support)

Kids have made videos to help others spell. Lovely!

Enter a word and the program finds photos from Flickr for each letter. If you don't like a letter, change it.

Brilliant! Gets you started with writing. Set yourself a target - how many words / how many minutes and start writing. If you pause you start to lose words you've already written.

Lots of word games - some are useful eg code words.

The BBC's LSCWC site. Good fun but you can't put in your own words unfortunately.

This is SO useful. Put in the words and it makes the word-shapes for you. It used to take me hours to make these.

Be warned - this is compulsive! Test your spelling. All sorts of new features, eg it notes the mistakes you make and makes a special spelling bee up for you - just with your mistaken words in it.

The BBC ran a spelling bee a few years ago. Some of the training for it was interesting.

Invaluable for finding words that contain, begin with or end with a certain spelling pattern. Really user-friendly. Don't know where I'd be without it.
